The World Day of Women in IT is held annually. For the sixth time in Slovakia, it took place on April 25, 2019, thanks to Aj Ty v IT. In our creative studio, we happily took care of the website's proper functioning.
During the exceptional day called Girl's Day, IT companies, organizations, and institutions in more than 166 countries open their gates to female high school students. Girls have a unique opportunity to peek into the world of virtual reality, 3D holograms, or programming, or discuss the topic of Women in IT. The goal is to bring the IT sector, which seems mysterious and seemingly masculine to many, closer to girls aged 15–18. At the same time, it presents new study opportunities in the field of ICT (information and communication technologies). This year the project took place with the support of the US Embassy in Slovakia, under the patronage of President Andrej Kiska and the Slovak UNESCO representation.
The brief
Create a website in the original design that will clearly communicate the event's activities. Since applicants could register for Girl's Day via the website, an especially strong requirement was placed on functionality and security.
The vision
This was the creation of a site where elevated traffic was expected and registering users were entering their personal data into the system. We looked for a solution that would be secure and high-performing.
The execution
1. Taking over the original design and creating the website
2. Programming a fully functional registration
3. Securing via our VPS server
The implementation proceeded in three clear steps, with the last two being the most important. Registration had to work at 100%, user simplicity and comprehensibility were essential. A VPS server is faster and more secure than more common options, guarantees several times greater privacy and control. Another successful project behind us, and we're already looking forward to new challenges!
