Productivity is a key factor of success, whether you work in the office, from home, or anywhere in between. Being productive doesn't mean working more hours, but working more efficiently and with higher output. As one English saying goes: "work smarter, not harder." So how do you squeeze the most from your time and at the same time find balance between work life and rest? We've prepared 10 practical tips for you.
1. Pomodoro technique: 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of break
The Pomodoro technique is one of the most effective methods for improving productivity. It helps improve focus and reduces exhaustion from long hours at the computer.
Divide your time into 25-minute work intervals followed by a 5-minute break. No, scrolling Instagram doesn't count as a break. Go for a walk, get some fresh air, do a mini stretch, or whatever will get your blood flowing a bit.
After four "pomodoros," treat yourself to a longer break (15–30 minutes). Again, we invite you to use it as a digital detox.

2. The 80/20 principle, or less is more
The Pareto principle, also known as the 80/20 rule, says that 80% of results come from 20% of your work. Shocking, isn't it? Identify these key tasks that bring the greatest benefit and focus on them. Eliminate or delegate the remaining tasks that don't contribute to achieving your main goals.

3. 40 BPM: music for the brain
Music with a tempo around 40 BPM (beats per minute) is ideal for improving concentration and productivity. This tempo helps calm the mind and reduce stress. Try listening to ambient 40 BPM music that supports concentration. A study has shown that even people with ADHD were able to overcome the fluctuation of their mind and can continuously focus on one task with binaural beats.

4. Natural light
Natural light is not only good for your eyes, but also for your mood and productivity. If possible, work near a window. If you don't have this option, we recommend investing in quality lighting that imitates daylight.

5. Planning is half the battle
Creating to-do lists is a great way to organize your day and improve productivity. In the morning, or even the previous evening, write down a list of things you want to achieve. Sort them by priority. We recommend planning 3 high-priority tasks per day and three lower-priority ones. Be realistic and don't try to plan a million things for one day. Less is more.

6. Eat That Frog technique: the hardest task first
The "Eat That Frog" technique comes from Brian Tracy's idea that if you start the morning with the hardest or most unpleasant task, the rest of the day will be easier. This approach will help you overcome procrastination and you'll get a sense of accomplishment right at the beginning of the day. Identify your "frog" — the biggest and most important task — and do it right in the morning.

7. Workplace ergonomics
Proper workplace setup can significantly affect your productivity and health. Make sure you have enough room for your legs and your hands are in a natural position when typing on the keyboard. Invest in a quality chair with back support, an adjustable desk, and a monitor at eye level.
8. Meditation and mindfulness: Relax your mind
Meditation and mindfulness techniques help improve concentration. Mindfulness practices teach you how to be present in the moment, which helps eliminate distraction and improves your ability to focus fully on tasks.
Simple techniques you can include in your daily routine:
- Breathing exercises: Find a quiet place, sit comfortably, and focus on your breath.
- Body scan: Lie comfortably and gradually become aware of individual parts of your body.
- Mindful walking and grounding: Walk slowly and consciously, focus on each step.
Spend at least 10–15 minutes daily practising mindfulness. We recommend the Calm, Headspace, or Insight Timer apps.
9. Movement for the brain
Regular physical activity has a positive effect on your productivity. Morning exercise like a short warm-up, yoga, or running can significantly improve your mood and energy level throughout the day. Morning movement helps circulate blood, wake up, and prepare for demanding tasks.
Short breaks for physical activity during the workday increase your concentration and productivity. Just a few minutes spent stretching, walking, or doing quick exercises in place is enough.
10. Hydration worth its weight in gold
Drinking enough water is key to maintaining focus and energy. Always have a glass of water on your desk and drink regularly to prevent dehydration, which causes fatigue and reduced performance.
Summary
Improving productivity isn't about harder work but about smarter work. Implement these tips into your daily work routine and you'll see how your performance improves. Just small changes in approach and environment can help you achieve great progress!
